Brief Description

Article 26 of the Law on Elimination of Violence against Women (EVAW) states that if a person engages or marries an adult woman without her consent, considering the circumstances he/she shall be sentenced to medium imprisonment of not less than 2 years and the marriage or engagement shall be revoked in accordance with the provisions of law.
